The Farm to Table Sunset Dinner Event

This event took place on a calm, warm Thursday evening at Mahler Park in Neenah, WI.  The skies were clear, the clouds were thin and the air wafted with exuberance.  As guests entered, they were greeted by watermelon cocktails garnished with a sprig of mint and cucumber: a refreshing summer beverage.  The cocktails were provided by the Neenah's newest and most highly-anticipated high-brow establishment,  Xe 54 Wine Bar.

Guests also enjoyed small bites of hors d'oeuvres as they congregated among the carefully arranged seating and decor.  Even the napkins were folded with precision, giving an air of elegance to the event.

After a few rounds of photos taken on a rustic bench, the dinner began to commence.  Guests made their way back to the edison-bulb-lit tent, passing a wagon stacked with fresh cantaloupe.  The ripened fruit was just harvested that morning at its peak of freshness.  One could smell the sweet, honey aroma throughout the entire premises.  It permeated the air as much as the guests' anticipation for decadent delights to come.

Chefs from all three restaurants, Zuppas Market, Cafe & CateringTown Council Kitchen & Bar and Cannova's took the microphone to introduce the food in which the guests dined.  Local farmers from Green Valley Acres and The G Farm also spoke and told the story about how the dinner being served was grown and harvested locally.  Cathie Tierney, President and CEO of Community First Credit Union, also spoke.  Community First plays a key role in sponsoring events around the Fox Cities area.  It is a vital player in this community and has graciously donated time, resources and effort into making community events a success.

Check out the list below of local vendors and restaurants that put forth their time and effort into creating this one-of-a-kind event.  They work tirelessly to provide our local community with fresh and nutritious food one will not find in a large-chain grocery store.

Remember that when presented with the option...eat fresh and buy local!
